HYBRID MATERIALS AND PRODUCTS

By combining individual materials to form hybrid materials and products, high-power mutually enhancing systems, like the solar cell-LED system.

NANOMATERIALS AND NANOPRODUCTS

These innovations include layers of nanoparticles which can make glazing especially water-repellent or spectrum-selective, or paints and plastics extremely scratch-resistant. Glazing can incorporate suitably thin dichroitic
filter layers. Nanoparticles can also be used in gypsum wallboard to improve room air quality. Examples of nanoparticles used here are titanium dioxide (Ti02) and zeolite.
