Discharge Lamps

They usually operate with a ballast device, and sometimes an ignition system, and offer high lighting efficiency with relatively long life (between 5000 and 15000 hours). The colour of the light depends on the type of lamp: warm white, neutral white or daylight white. Colour rendering is moderate to very good, but it is only possible to dim the lamps to a limited extent. Flicker-free operation can only be achieved by the use of an electronic ballast device.
