Non-changeable/non-changing architecture building material
Self cleaning materials have been developed to protect
buildings from various atmospheric, local and anthropological influences. These are incorporated into building elements such as roof tiles, facades , membranes in order to keep them permanently clean.
These developments are of particular Interest for buildings
that have to withstand extreme climatic conditions and/or are expected to remain In use for a very long time.
Self- healing coatings and seals have been developed that reseal themselves in the event of damage to restore their protective effect and make costly repairs unnecessary. Highly resistant materials and coatings are also being developed.
Architecture can be designed to change or be changed in specific ways. Adaptive building envelopes are able to react to their immediate and adjacent surroundings in a manner quite unlike earlier structures.
Depending on their design and sensory systems, and their passive and
active structures and components, they are able to react reversibly to their surroundings over a long period of time. This task requires materials and products with reversible properties.
Property determining parameters relevant to architecture that can be designed as changing or changeable include:
Shape
Sound / Noise
Color / Appearance
Odour
