Environment Impact Assessment for a new cement plant
EIA Reports includes following points :
Detailed characterisation of present environment in an area of 10 KM. radius of project site for environmental components viz. air, noise, water, land, biological and socio-economic.
Assessment of the present status of air, noise, water, land, biological and socio-economic components of environment.
Identify and quantify significant impacts of cement plant operations on environmental components. To evaluate the proposed pollution control measures
Environmental Management plan (EMP) outlining additional control technologies
Delineate post-construction environmental quality monitoring program to be pursued by the cement plant
Techniques and methods adopted for mitigation of adverse impacts
1. Production and Process management
a. The technology chosen and machinery selected are energy efficient and environment friendly.
b. Plant designed to meet all the standard norms of State and Central pollution Control Boards and MOE&F .
c. Noise levels designed at less than 90 dBAs as per OHS standard of 90 dBs of 8 hours exposure at work Environment
2. Pollution control equipment proposed
a. Pulse Jet bag filters for all Emission Sources.
b. Stack monitoring of SPM, SOX and NOX
c. Annual maintenance budget provided @ Rs.4.00 Lakhs.
3. Material handling and storage
a. All spillages and deposits on structures will cleaned up promptly using vacuum cleaners or vacuum system.
b. Automatic devices and control systems will be used.
c. Traffic areas, including roads and areas with regular vehicle movement, will be paved with a suitable road-way covering and be kept clean constantly
d. Boundary of the plant will be surrounded with thick plantation.
Thick plantation along the unpaved haul road is will also be provided.
