• The boundary is porous with many amenities, giving an understanding of the base of community living.
• Ramps should have been provided at some places.
• Mobility Pattern in the master plan requires deeper understanding to create a sustainable environment.

Rapid population explosion and concentration in urban areas have been the bane of many asian cities. India is no exception to this rampant phenomenon. The systemic process of eviction, re location and resistance has shaped the city in a unique way.
The project visualizes and designs for the various phases of life for every resident. For children, safety, comfort spaces and free spaces were envisioned. For teens and young adults, a quality study environment along with hangout spaces were envisioned. For women, blind spots and shady corners were avoided which could lead to crime. Working adults get to come home and enjoy an evening at the community center and amphitheater. The walking pathway leads to vegetable gardens on either side of the site. The vegetable garden is a great way to engage the community. The corridors have been inverted to be on the outside, making them great spaces to interact, move around and bring life
to these buildings .. Staircases have been placed strategically at different levels to serve as both circulation and social spaces.
The cluster A is meant for small families and are non incremental while cluster B is for families and who will be able to afford a larger house. Sloping roofs of madras tiles reflect the traditional roof form and helps regulate heat during the hot summers of Chennai and keeping in mind the cost factor, has been restricted to just the bedrooms. The plinth seating (thinnai) at the ground level helps the user spill over and converse or even vend. The central square acts as both a roundabout and a social space for gathering, vending, interactions and panchayats .  The first floor overlooks the interior courtyard, the greenery of which provides a serene backdrop for studies in the community library. The project also gives the option to the resident to choose their language of their house through doors, windows, railings and colors.
