The Intersections are the places where the vehicles can change their directions. There are various criteria for designing the intersections. 
They are :
(i) Type of road
(ii) Priority of movement
(ill) Volume of Traffic
(iv) Allocation of land
(v) Existing shape of intersection (i.e. T-junction, Cross junction etc.).
