National Housing Policy
National Housing Policy (NHP) was formulated by the government in 1988 and was tabled in Parliament. . Subsequently a National Agenda declared shelter for all as a priority area and formulated a new National Housing and Habitat Policy in 1998, which was laid before the parliament in July 1998. The new National Housing and Habitat Policy, 1998 has clearly defined the roles of various stakeholders including the state and central governments.
