Environment normally includes the biological, chemical, physical,
economic, cultural, social and other characteristics of a location. Environmental resources like water, soil, air, nutrients, minerals, etc. are renewable to a certain extent, but the carrying capacity of the environment is not infinite. As long as the utilization of resources does not exceed the rate of regeneration, the environment is said to be sustainable. Depletion of resources affects the survival and growth characteristics of living communities.
