Aims and objectives of ITPI are
To advance the study of town planning.
To promote planned development of settlements.
To promote the general interests of practice planners.
To foster the teaching of subjects of settlement planning through aiding grant allocation to schools.
To devise and impose the means for testing of candidates for membership admission.
To consider all that affecting the practice of planning and to procure changes of amendments in the law.

Advocate for planning at the national level.

Promote good planning through vigorous public information and education programs.

Assure excellence in the field - the efforts of the Planning Accreditation Board and emphasizing the importance of AICP certification for practicing planners.

Seek national and international partnerships to advance the planning movement and principles of sustainability, inclusion, and nondiscrimination.
