Time: Three hours Max Marks 100
Q. 1. From the plan, elevation and section of a RCC framed building calculate the following :
a) Earth work in in foundation of column footing and wall
b) Brickwork with 1:5 cement sand mortar in foundation and plinth of wall
c) Mild steel work in RCC including bending, binding and placing in position
d) 12 mm plaster in 1: 6 cement sand mortar on walls
Find out cost as per PWD Schedule of Rate 1992.
2 (a) What are various types of Estimate normally required to be for prepared inn construction Residential building?
(b) In a development authority meeting you are required to drawup a preliminary estimate of a school building for 500 students in order to access the amount of fund.
The following particulars collected by you :
carpet area required fer student 1.20 sq.m.
with an area of corridor, verandah, levatories, etc to be 20%
and for walls 15% to that of plinth area of the building.
Consider plinth aree rate Rs 1200 per sqm.
Cost of water supply = 5% of the building cost
Cost of sanitation = 6% of the building cost
Coat of electrification = 10 % of the building cost
cost of approach road and boundry wall = 3% of the building cost
contingency and work changed establishment shall be 5% and 2.5 % of the building cost
Q3 Differentiate between
a) Quotation and Tender
b) Ernest money of security money
c) Revised estimate and special repair estimate
d) contingencies and supervision charge
Q4. Explain
a) A contractor fails to complete his work in spite of repeated reminders , how will you get the work completed
b) What procedure is adopted for cancellatio of an entry in MB ( measurement book)
c) under what circumstances can
i) A contract be terminated
ii) Material issued when not provided in agreement
iii) payment be made to labour through contractor
