A concourse is a place where pathways or roads meet, such as in a hotel, a convention center, a metro station. Within the concourse , passengers purchase tickets, transfer their luggage, and go through security.
A large open area or hall where crowds gather and provide access to the metro-line (via gates) is called concourse
