The second day of our reunion began with an early start. At 4:45 am, I woke up, got ready, and by 5:30 am, Shri Krishan and I were on our way to the Chandra Prabhu Jain Temple in Kukas, about 16.4 km from the resort. The peaceful drive in the early morning took around half an hour, and once we arrived, I had the chance to perform abhishek and puja. We returned to the resort by 8:30 am, refreshed and spiritually uplifted. I am truly grateful to Shri Krishan for accompanying me and sharing this memorable experience.
By 8:30 am, we were all ready for a group breakfast, wearing matching T-shirts that proudly displayed “Class of 1994 Architecture MREC Jaipur.” The T-shirt design included a unique silhouette, with three red figures representing the three girls from our class—a thoughtful touch that added a special meaning. Before breakfast, we took a quick round of the resort, noting the progress on the new cottage block under construction. Walking through the beautiful surroundings together, it felt as though our bond had only grown stronger over the years.
Together, we took a quick tour around the resort, checking out the newly added cottage block under construction. This brief walk stirred memories of our architecture days, examining design elements and discussing project details like we did back in college.
The Class of 1994 from the Department of Architecture, MREC Jaipur, came together to celebrate a journey spanning 25 years—a Silver Jubilee Reunion, bringing batchmates from across the world to reminisce, reconnect, and create new memories.
After lunch, at 4.00pm the resort manager surprised us with a playing kit, and we headed to the lawn for a cricket match—a nostalgic moment, as it was our first time playing together since our college days. Laughter and friendly competition filled the air, bringing us right back to the carefree spirit of our younger years. Each of us took turns batting, fielding, and cheering one another on, reliving the energy and excitement that only a good game can bring.
After an exhilarating cricket match, we returned to our rooms to rest. By 6:00 pm, we were ready for another walk down memory lane—this time, over tea at a traditional thadi right in front of the resort. Sipping on the familiar taste of thadi ki chai, we shared stories, laughed over old jokes, and soaked in the simple joy of being together again. This tea break was a perfect throwback to the countless thadi gatherings that defined our college days.
After our tea at the thadi, we settled into a cozy round table arrangement in the cottage backyard, thoughtfully prepared by the resort staff. This setup was perfect for an evening of gupshup, where each of us shared our life stories, starting alphabetically from Chandan to Vishal. One by one, we recounted our journeys, reflecting on both the early challenges and the accomplishments that marked our careers and personal lives over the past 25 years. It was a heartwarming session, where we realized how each of us had grown, yet remained connected by the shared experiences that brought us back together.Though our journeys varied, we each found common ground in the shared experiences of struggle and ultimate fulfillment.
As stories unfolded, we realized just how much we had grown while also seeing that some things—like friendship and shared memories—remain timeless. This roundtable gathering was not only heartwarming but also profoundly inspiring, reminding us that despite the miles and years, our bond remains unbreakable.
As the evening drew to a close, we realized that day one had given us a perfect blend of nostalgia, warmth, and joy. With hearts full of laughter and minds abuzz with stories, we wrapped up the day and returned to our rooms, excited for the events planned for the following day.
Reflecting on the day, it felt as if the years melted away, and we were back in college once again—friends bound by shared dreams, laughter, and camaraderie. Day one of our Silver Jubilee reunion had set a beautiful tone, and we eagerly anticipated what day two would bring.
The Class of 1994 from the Department of Architecture, MREC Jaipur, came together to celebrate a journey spanning 25 years—a Silver Jubilee Reunion, bringing batchmates from across the world to reminisce, reconnect, and create new memories.
In the cozy Cottage lobby, each of us received digital keys to our rooms from the attentive hotel staff. As we settled into our allotted rooms, conversations turned to shared memories of our college days and updates on where life had taken us. It was a moment of nostalgia and pride as we reconnected with our room partners.
Shortly after, our luggage arrived via e-cart, making the process seamless. We freshened up, changed, and prepared for lunch, eager to continue the day’s celebrations.
At 2:40 pm, we headed to lunch, some of us taking the scenic route on foot while others hopped onto e-carts. The lunch was a memorable experience, as Ravindra Pratap Singh, the owner of Ravi Surya Group and Ananta Resort, made a personal visit to introduce himself to our group. His warm hospitality added a special touch to our afternoon, making us feel even more welcome.
Meanwhile, the vibrant energy of an Elite Miss Rajasthan fashion show filled the banquet hall nearby, adding a glamorous backdrop to our gathering. It was a delightful blend of old friendships, new connections, and an unexpected dash of elegance.
The Class of 1994 from the Department of Architecture, MREC Jaipur, came together to celebrate a journey spanning 25 years—a Silver Jubilee Reunion, bringing batchmates from across the world to reminisce, reconnect, and create new memories. Held at the Ananta Spa & Resort in Jaipur, the reunion was thoughtfully planned to ensure two days of joy, nostalgia, and reflection on how far we’ve come since our college days.
After reuniting at Grand Uniara, we made our way to Ananta Spa & Resort. Midway, we paused at Pink City Restaurant in Kukas, along the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, for tea and refreshments. It was a delightful stop that added a touch of Rajasthan’s hospitality to our journey. Sipping chai together brought back the charm of our student days, when tea breaks were all we needed to recharge during long study sessions.
After our stop at Pink City Restaurant in Kukas for tea and refreshments, our group of 17—of which 9 were local attendees—continued toward Ananta Spa & Resort around 1:00 pm. Traveling in a convoy of 7 cars, we reached the resort by 1:30 pm, filled with excitement and anticipation. This short drive gave us a chance to share laughs, stories, and enjoy the camaraderie that only a reunion can bring.
We arrived at Ananta Spa & Resort, welcomed by its grand entryway on the first floor, accessible through two impressive ramps. A beautiful fountain greeted us at the entrance, setting a serene tone for the afternoon. In true Indian tradition, the resort staff welcomed us warmly with tilak and mala, an experience that made each of us feel honored and valued. This thoughtful touch brought a sense of ceremony and made the reunion feel even more special.
Registration and Room Allotment
Upon arrival at Ananta Spa & Resort, we completed our registration at the reception, and rooms were allotted for our group. The resort had arranged eight rooms to accommodate 16 of us comfortably in one cottage unit:
From reception we made our way to our cottage, looking around beautiful resort ,excited for the memories we were about to create.
Our visit continued to the design studios, where current students had proudly displayed their work. We explored the detailed sheets and models, admiring the creativity and dedication that reminded us of our own college days. Moving on to the department library, we had a nostalgic surprise—our batch thesis reports, carefully preserved in a cabinet. Holding our old work in hand, we couldn’t resist capturing a group photo with our thesis reports, a snapshot of both memories and milestones.
After our department tour, our alma mater treated us to tea and snacks—a gesture that made us feel right at home. Gathering around with our batchmates, faculty, and other staff, we enjoyed the break, exchanging laughter and sharing a few more cherished memories from our time at MREC.
Following our time in the studios and library, we gathered with students on the first floor for a lively interactive session. We shared the realities of architectural practice, highlighting the importance of patience and hands-on experience. As we explained, architecture often offers modest returns in the early years, requiring commitment and perseverance. But with 5 to 10 years of dedicated effort, the rewards—from knowledge to career growth—can surpass those in many other fields.
The students listened closely, eager to absorb the wisdom gained from our journeys. This interaction felt like a bridge connecting their academic insights with the world of practical, impactful architecture, and it was a privilege to inspire them as they prepare to embark on their own professional paths
After our interactive session, we gathered on the department’s iconic staircase—a spot that held countless memories from our college days. Standing together, just as we had so many times before, we posed for a group photo, capturing the joy, nostalgia, and camaraderie of our reunion. This staircase, once a daily part of our routine, now became a symbol of the journey we had all undertaken together, from students to seasoned architects. It was a photo we knew would hold a special place in each of our hearts.
