Service Level Benchmarking (SLB): Performance indicators

The Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India, has launched the Service Level Benchmarking (SLB) initiative covering water supply, wastewater, solid waste management (SWM) and storm water drainage.

28 performance indicators:

•Water Supply

1.Coverage of water supply connections

2.Per capita supply of water

3.Extent of metering of water connections

4.Extent of non-revenue water

5.Continuity of water supply n Quality of water supplied

6.Cost recovery in water supply services n Efficiency in redressal of customer complaints

7.Efficiency in collection of water supply-related charges

•Solid Waste Management

1.Household level coverage of SWM services

2.Efficiency of collection of municipal solid waste n Extent of segregation of municipal solid waste

3.Extent of municipal solid waste recovered

4.Extent of scientific disposal of municipal solid waste

5.Extent of cost recovery in SWM services 6.Efficiency in redressal of customer complaints

7.Efficiency in collection of SWM-related user charges

•Waste Water Management

1.Coverage of toilets

2.Coverage of wastewater network services

3.Collection efficiency of wastewater network

4.Adequacy of wastewater treatment capacity

5.Quality of wastewater treatment

6.Extent of reuse and recycling of wastewater

7.Extent of cost recovery in wastewater management

8.Efficiency in redressal of customer complaints

9.Efficiency in collection of sewerage-related charges

•Storm Water Drainage

1.Coverage of storm water drainage network
