Honoring Heritage Through Architecture
Located in Sector 15, Chopasni Housing Board, Jodhpur, this temple is a spiritual beacon for the Digambar Jain community, marking a historic moment—105 years since the construction of the last Jain temple in the city. Designed to uphold the community’s religious values, the temple resonates with traditional Jain architectural principles while incorporating modern construction techniques.
Design Highlights
- Sacred Geometry: The temple layout is based on traditional Vastu principles, ensuring harmony and sanctity within the space.
- Garbhagriha: The sanctum sanctorum, measuring 9’8″ x 9’7″, is a serene enclosure for the 7.5-foot-tall Padmasana idol of Lord Munisuvrata Nath, crafted from black stone with intricate detailing.
- Temple Hall: The spacious 25′-1½” x 25′-1″ hall with a clear height of 15’3” is designed to accommodate devotees comfortably during prayers and ceremonies.
- Material Excellence: The temple is adorned with Chittar stone, sourced from Pindwara. Known for its durability and aesthetic appeal, the stone’s intricate carvings elevate the temple’s grandeur.
- Sustainability: Leveraging natural light and ventilation, the design ensures minimal environmental impact while providing a serene ambiance for spiritual practices.
Craftsmanship Beyond Compare
The entire stonework, including the carvings, was executed by skilled artisans from Pindwara, celebrated for their expertise in traditional stone carving. The black stone idol of Lord Munisuvrata Nath, crafted in Dungarpur, stands as a testimony to the precision and artistry of Indian sculptors.
Journey of Creation
- Inception: The project commenced with a groundbreaking ceremony on February 21, 2022, under the blessings of Acharya Shri 108 Chaitya Sagar Ji Maharaj.
- Completion: Despite its intricate detailing, the temple was completed in November 2024, thanks to the unwavering dedication of all stakeholders.
- Community Involvement: Funded by the collective efforts of the local Digambar Jain community and a generous donation from Smt. Shobha Devi Jain, who contributed the land worth ₹1.10 crore, the project is a testament to shared faith and cooperation.
मंदिर का डिजाइन और वास्तुकला
यह नूतन मंदिर नागर शैली में तैयार किया गया है, जो अपनी अद्वितीय नक्काशी और प्राचीन भारतीय स्थापत्य कला के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। जोधपुरी छीतर पत्थर में की गई बारीक नक्काशी मंदिर को दिव्यता प्रदान करती है।
- मुख्य शिखर: मंदिर का शिखर 21 फीट ऊंचा है, जबकि पूरी संरचना की कुल ऊंचाई 41 फीट है।
- स्तंभ और नक्काशी: मंदिर में भव्य स्तंभों पर जटिल नक्काशी की गई है, जो इसकी शोभा को बढ़ाते हैं।

- आकार: 11’3″ x 11’3″।
- निर्माण: जोधपुरी छीतर पत्थर में बारीक नक्काशी के साथ।
- परिकर: डूंगरपुर के ग्रेनाइट से निर्मित चंवरी और परिकर।
- मूर्ति:
- भगवान मुनिसुव्रतनाथ की 41 इंच ऊंची काले पाषाण की पद्मासन प्रतिमा।
- प्रतिमा के साथ 6 अन्य मूर्तियाँ भी गर्भगृह में प्रतिष्ठित होंगी।
- मंदिर हॉल:
- आकार: 25′ x 40’।
- ऊंचाई: 15 फीट।
- प्रवेश और खिड़कियाँ: तीनों तरफ गेट और खिड़कियों की व्यवस्था से मंदिर में प्रकाश और वायु का समुचित प्रवाह सुनिश्चित किया गया है।
अन्य संरचनाएं : मंदिर के पीछे जनसुविधाओं का विशेष ध्यान रखा गया है:
- 4 स्नानघर।
- 1 कार्यालय।
- एक हॉल और ऊपर एक कमरा।
Significance and Impact
This temple stands as a landmark for Jodhpur’s Digambar Jain community, becoming the city’s second Digambar Jain temple. Beyond its architectural brilliance, the temple serves as a spiritual hub, fostering a sense of unity, tradition, and devotion among its patrons.
एक समर्पित प्रयास
लगभग ₹2 करोड़ की लागत से, यह मंदिर 2.5 वर्षों की कड़ी मेहनत और पिण्डवाड़ा के नक्काशीदार पत्थरों और डूंगरपुर के ग्रेनाइट से तैयार किया गया है। इसके निर्माण में दिगंबर जैन समाज की सामूहिक श्रद्धा और योगदान ने इसे एक पवित्र और भव्य स्वरूप प्रदान किया है।
पंच कल्याणक महोत्सव
मंदिर के निर्माण कार्य को पूर्णता की ओर अग्रसर करते हुए, 8 से 12 दिसंबर 2024 तक भव्य पंच कल्याणक कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया जाएगा। यह महोत्सव आचार्य श्री 108 चैत्य सागर जी महाराज के सान्निध्य में सम्पन्न होगा।
