11.0 Internal Standards Required for Building Construction
11.4 Stairs and Corridor –
11.4. सीढियां (जीना) व गलियारा (कॉरिडोर) –
(i) All points of exit such as exits, doors, stairs, seatings, landing, ramps, etc. shall comply with the provisions of the National Building Code regarding the width and distance of
(i) निकासी के सभी बिन्दु यथा बरामदो, दरवाजों, सीढियाँ, सीटी का तल्ला व चढाई, खुर्रा (ढलान) आदि की चौड़ाई व दूरी राष्ट्रीय भवन निर्माण संहिता के प्रावधानों के
(ii) stairs and corridors. The minimum standards for the width of stairs and corridors shall be as follows:

(ii) सीढियों व गलियारा की न्यूनतम चौडाई के मानदण्ड निम्न प्रकार से होंगे:- अनुसार होगी।

11.5. Lift, Escalator and Mechanical Car Lift –
11.5. लिफ्ट, एस्केलेटर एवं मैकेनिकल कार लिफ्ट –
(i) The lift installed within the building will not be considered as a means of rescue in emergency situations.
(i) भवन के अन्तर्गत उपलब्ध कराई गई लिफ्ट को आपात स्थिति में बचाव के लिये माध्यम के रूप में नहीं माना जायेगा।
(ii) The standards related to lifts, escalators, and mechanical car lifts in buildings will be as per Indian Standard Codes and the provisions of the National Building Construction Code.
(ii) भवनों में लिफ्ट, एस्केलेटर एवं मैकेनिकल कार लिफ्ट से संबंधित मानदण्ड भारतीय मानक सहिता (इण्डियन स्टेण्डर्ड कोड) एवं राष्ट्रीय भवन निर्माण संहिता के प्रावधानों के अनुसार होगे।
(iii) Provision of lift will be mandatory as per rules if more than four floors (including stilt) are proposed/built in buildings of all uses.
(iii) सभी उपयोगों के भवनों में चार से अधिक मंजिल (स्टील्ट सहित) प्रस्तावित / निर्मित होने पर लिफ्ट का नियमानुसार प्रावधान किया जाना अनिवार्य होगा।
