श्री दिगम्बर जैन मंदिर बुधचन्दजी बज जयपुर के किशनपोल बाजार में टिक्कीवालों का रास्ता में स्थित एक प्राचीन और कलात्मक दिगम्बर जैन मंदिर है। यह मंदिर अपने ऐतिहासिक महत्व, विशाल गुम्बज और धार्मिक धरोहर के लिए प्रसिद्ध है।

मंदिर का इतिहास
इस मंदिर का निर्माण विक्रम संवत् 1864 की कार्तिक सुदी 12 को बुधचन्दजी (बधीचन्दजी) बज द्वारा कराया गया था। व्यास के पर्चे के अनुसार भी यही जानकारी प्राप्त होती है, जिसमें उल्लेख है कि:
“महाराजाधिराज राज श्री सवाई जगतसिंह के शासनकाल में बधीचन्द बज ने संवत् 1864 में यह मंदिर बनवाया।”
मंदिर के मुख्य द्वार पर बने श्वेत पाषाण के पुष्पों की पंखुड़ियों में भी संवत् 1864 का निर्माण वर्ष अंकित है।
मंदिर की अधिकांश सूचियों में इसका नाम बधीचन्दजी बज का मंदिर मिलता है, किंतु मंदिर के प्रबंधकों के अनुसार निर्माणकर्ता का नाम बुधचन्दजी बज था।
वंशावली और साहित्यिक योगदान
बुधचन्दजी के वंशज आज भी Jaipur में महावीर पार्क रोड पर स्थित साधीजी के मंदिर के सामने रहते हैं। उनकी उपलब्ध वंशावली इस प्रकार है:
- शोभाचन्दजी
- पूरणमलजी
- निहालचन्दजी, जादूदासजी
- बुधचन्दजी (बधीचन्दजी)
बुधचन्दजी जैन समाज में “बुधजन” के नाम से प्रसिद्ध कवि भी थे। उनकी रचनाओं पर Dr. Moolchand Shastri ने शोध कार्य किया है, जो Mahavir Granth Academy, जयपुर से “कविवर बुधजन व्यक्तित्व एवं कृतित्व” नामक पुस्तक के रूप में प्रकाशित हो चुका है।
मूलनायक एवं प्रतिमाएँ
मंदिर में मूलनायक प्रतिमा भगवान चन्द्रप्रभ की है, जिसकी प्रतिष्ठा विक्रम संवत् 1852 में हुई थी। यह प्रतिमा समवसरण में विराजमान है।
स्थापत्य और कलात्मक विशेषताएँ
मंदिर का क्षेत्रफल लगभग 5000 वर्ग फीट है और इसके नीचे मकान तथा दुकानें बनी हुई हैं।
मंदिर अत्यंत कलात्मक और भव्य है। इसके प्रमुख स्थापत्य तत्व हैं:
- विशाल गुम्बज
- बीच में मकराना पत्थर का समवसरण
- चौक की ओर पच्चीकारी के तीन सुंदर द्वार
- द्वारों में पत्थर की बारीक कटाई वाली जालियाँ
चौक के तिबारे में बने भित्ति चित्र अत्यंत आकर्षक हैं। इनमें प्रमुख रूप से दर्शाए गए विषय हैं:
- Shikharji (सम्मेद शिखर) और Sonagiri जैसे तीर्थ क्षेत्र
- अढ़ाई द्वीप का मानचित्र
- 16 स्वप्न
- तप कल्याणक का दृश्य
- ऋषि मण्डल यंत्र
शास्त्र भण्डार
मंदिर में लगभग 200 हस्तलिखित ग्रंथों का संग्रह है। इन ग्रंथों की सूची तैयार की जा चुकी है और उन्हें सुरक्षित रूप से अलमारियों में संरक्षित रखा गया है।
परंपरा और प्रबंधन
यह मंदिर गुमान पंथ आम्नाय से संबंधित है। मंदिर का संचालन निर्धारित प्रबंध समिति द्वारा किया जाता है।

Shri Digambar Jain Temple Budhchandji Baj is located in Tikkiwalon Ka Rasta, Kishanpole Bazaar in Jaipur. This temple is known for its historical significance, artistic architecture, and valuable religious heritage.
History of the Temple
The temple was constructed on Kartik Sudi 12, Vikram Samvat 1864 by Budhchandji (Badhichandji) Baj. According to the Vyasa records, this information is confirmed by the statement:
“During the reign of Maharajadhiraj Raj Shri Sawai Jagat Singh, Badhichand Baj built this temple in Vikram Samvat 1864.”
The construction year Vikram Samvat 1864 is also inscribed on the white marble flower-petal carvings at the main entrance of the temple.
In most temple records and lists, it is referred to as the Temple of Badhichandji Baj, but according to the temple management, the builder’s name was Budhchandji Baj.
Genealogy and Literary Contribution
The descendants of Budhchandji still reside in Jaipur near the temple of Sadhiji on Mahavir Park Road. The known genealogy is as follows:
- Shobhachandji
- Puranmalji
- Nihalchandji, Jadudasji
- Budhchandji (Badhichandji)
Budhchandji was also known in the Jain community as the poet “Budhjan.” His literary works have been studied by Dr. Moolchand Shastri, whose research was published by Mahavir Granth Academy, Jaipur under the title “Kavivar Budhjan: Vyaktitva evam Krititva.”
Main Deity and Idol
The Mulnayak (principal deity) of the temple is Lord Chandraprabhu, whose idol was consecrated in Vikram Samvat 1852. The idol is installed within a Samavasaran representation.
Architectural and Artistic Features
The temple covers an area of approximately 5,000 square feet, and beneath it there are residential rooms and shops.
The temple is highly artistic and architecturally impressive. Its main features include:
- A large and magnificent dome
- A Makrana marble Samavasaran in the center
- Three beautifully inlaid entrance doors facing the courtyard
- Intricately carved stone lattice screens
The verandah of the courtyard contains beautiful mural paintings, depicting:
- Shikharji (Sammed Shikhar) and Sonagiri pilgrimage sites
- A map of Adhai Dweep (Jain cosmological world)
- The Sixteen Dreams
- Scenes of Tap Kalyanak
- The Rishi Mandal Yantra
Manuscript Collection
The temple preserves a collection of approximately 200 handwritten manuscripts. A catalogue of these manuscripts has been prepared, and the manuscripts are safely stored in cupboards.
Tradition and Management
The temple belongs to the Guman Panth Amnay tradition. Its administration is managed by a designated management committee.
