श्री दिगम्बर जैन मन्दिर मारूजी – इतिहास, स्थापत्य और आध्यात्मिक धरोहर
जयपुर के प्रसिद्ध जौहरी बाजार क्षेत्र में स्थित श्री दिगम्बर जैन मन्दिर मारूजी एक प्राचीन और ऐतिहासिक जैन तीर्थस्थल है। यह मन्दिर मारूजी का चौक, मोतीसिंह भोमिया का रास्ता, जौहरी बाजार में स्थित है और जैन समाज की आस्था, इतिहास तथा संस्कृति का महत्वपूर्ण केन्द्र माना जाता है।
मन्दिर का निर्माण और इतिहास
इस दिगम्बर जैन मन्दिर का निर्माण सवाईराम मारू ओसवाल द्वारा विक्रम संवत् 1861 में फाल्गुन शुक्ला पंचमी के दिन कराया गया था। मन्दिर के बाहर एक शिलालेख भी लगा हुआ है, जिसमें निर्माण और प्रतिष्ठा से जुड़ी महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी अंकित है। शिलालेख के अनुसार:
“श्री जैन दिगम्बर मन्दिर मारूजी का तेरापंथी।
मिति फागुण शु. 5 वि.स. 1861।
श्री मूलसंघे नद्याम्नाये बलात्कारगणे सरस्वती गच्छे कुदकुदाचार्यान्वये दिगम्बर जैन धर्मी सवाईराम दुलीचंद मारू ओसवाल वसे जौहरी ने मिति फागुण शु. 5 वि.स. 1861 को जयपुर में मन्दिरजी का निर्माण कराकर प्रतिष्ठा कराई।
इस मन्दिर में सदैव दिगम्बर जैन धर्म तेरापंथ शुद्धाम्नाय की प्रवृत्ति रहेगी और प्रबन्ध भी दिगम्बर जैन पक्ष करेगा तथा दिगम्बर तेरापंथ आम्नाय के विरुद्ध कोई भी प्रवृत्ति नहीं कर सकेगा।”
यह शिलालेख मन्दिर के धार्मिक नियमों और परम्पराओं को स्पष्ट करता है।
मूलनायक भगवान चन्द्रप्रभ की प्रतिमा
मन्दिर में स्थापित मूलनायक भगवान चन्द्रप्रभ की प्रतिमा विक्रम संवत् 1883 की मानी जाती है। भगवान चन्द्रप्रभ जैन धर्म के आठवें तीर्थंकर हैं और उनकी प्रतिमा भक्तों के लिए विशेष श्रद्धा और भक्ति का केन्द्र है।
स्थापत्य और विशेषताएँ
यह मन्दिर सफेद संगमरमर से निर्मित है, जो इसकी भव्यता और पवित्रता को दर्शाता है। मन्दिर परिसर में कुल 62 प्रतिमाएँ तथा 13 यंत्र स्थापित हैं, जो इसकी धार्मिक महत्ता को और बढ़ाते हैं।
मन्दिर की एक महत्वपूर्ण विशेषता यह भी है कि यहाँ लगभग 200 हस्तलिखित प्राचीन ग्रंथ सुरक्षित रूप से संरक्षित किए गए हैं। ये ग्रंथ जैन धर्म के इतिहास, दर्शन और साहित्य की अमूल्य धरोहर हैं।
अन्य संरचनाएँ
मन्दिर के बाहर एक कुआँ भी बनवाया गया है, जो पुराने समय में श्रद्धालुओं और स्थानीय लोगों के लिए जल स्रोत के रूप में उपयोगी था।
वर्तमान प्रबन्ध व्यवस्था
मन्दिर का प्रबन्ध एक चुनी हुई प्रबन्ध समिति द्वारा किया जाता है।
Shri Digambar Jain Temple Maruji –
History, Architecture and Spiritual Heritage
Located in the famous Johari Bazaar area of Jaipur, Shri Digambar Jain Temple Maruji is an ancient and historically significant Jain temple. The temple is situated at Maruji ka Chowk, Moti Singh Bhomiya ka Rasta, Johari Bazaar, and is considered an important center of faith, history, and culture for the Jain community.
Construction and History of the Temple
This Digambar Jain temple was constructed by Sawai Ram Maru Oswal on Phalgun Shukla Panchami in Vikram Samvat 1861. A stone inscription placed outside the temple records important details about its construction and consecration.
According to the inscription, Sawai Ram Dulichand Maru Oswal of Johari Bazaar built the temple in Vikram Samvat 1861 and organized its consecration ceremony. The inscription also mentions that the temple will always follow the traditions of the Digambar Jain Terapanth Shuddhamnaya, and its management will remain under the Digambar Jain community. No practices contrary to the Terapanth tradition will be permitted in the temple.
Idol of the Main Deity (Mulnayak)
The Mulnayak (main deity) idol of Lord Chandraprabhu installed in the temple dates back to Vikram Samvat 1883. Lord Chandraprabhu is the 8th Tirthankara in Jainism, and the idol is a major center of devotion for followers.
Architecture and Features
The temple is built entirely of white marble, reflecting purity and elegance in its architecture. Inside the temple, there are 62 idols and 13 sacred yantras, which enhance its religious significance.
One of the remarkable aspects of this temple is the preservation of nearly 200 handwritten manuscripts, which are carefully safeguarded. These manuscripts are valuable sources of Jain religious literature, philosophy, and historical knowledge.
Additional Structures
A well was also constructed outside the temple, which historically served as a water source for devotees and local residents.
Present Management
The temple is managed by an elected management committee.
They oversee the administration and religious activities of the temple.
