श्री दिगम्बर जैन मन्दिर चन्द्रप्रभजी (खिन्दूकान), जयपुर
Jaipur के प्राचीन और ऐतिहासिक जैन मंदिरों में श्री दिगम्बर जैन मन्दिर चन्द्रप्रभजी (खिन्दूकान) का महत्वपूर्ण स्थान है। यह मंदिर मणिहारों के रास्ते में महावीर पार्क के पास स्थित है और अपनी धार्मिक परंपरा, इतिहास तथा कलात्मक सौंदर्य के लिए प्रसिद्ध है।
मन्दिर का इतिहास
इस मंदिर का निर्माण पंच खिन्दूकान द्वारा कराया गया था। व्यास के पर्चे के अनुसार मंदिर का निर्माण विक्रम संवत् 1804 में हुआ था। पर्चे में इसका उल्लेख इस प्रकार मिलता है:
“महाराजाधिराज सवाई ईश्वरी सिंहजी के राज्य में पंच खिन्दूका को संवत् 1804।”
खिन्दूका, पाटनी और मुशरफ एक ही गोत्र से संबंधित माने जाते हैं। इनका आगमन Nevta Village, Rajasthan (सांगानेर के निकट) से हुआ था, जहाँ एक प्राचीन जैन मंदिर भी स्थित है।
मन्दिर की प्रतिमाएँ
मंदिर में मूलनायक भगवान चन्द्रप्रभ की प्रतिमा विराजमान है। इसके अतिरिक्त मंदिर में कुल:
- 266 प्रतिमाएँ
- 44 यंत्र
स्थापित हैं।
इसके अलावा यहाँ
- धातु की पंचमेरु
- चरण चौकी
- पद्मावती देवी की प्रतिमा
- पीतल की एक पाटड़ी, जिस पर “उदय बाबाजी” का चित्र अंकित है
भी मौजूद हैं।
मंदिर में भगवान अजितनाथ की श्याम पाषाण की विशाल पद्मासन मनोज्ञ प्रतिमा भी विराजमान है, जो अत्यंत आकर्षक और दर्शनीय है।
स्थापत्य और कलात्मक विशेषताएँ
यह मंदिर अत्यंत कलापूर्ण और भव्य है। मंदिर के बाहर एक सुंदर छतरी बनी हुई है, जबकि अंदर वेदी के ऊपर एक विशाल गुम्बज निर्मित है।
मंदिर में श्वेत पाषाण पर उकेरे गए सुनहरे और रंगीन उत्कीर्ण चित्र विशेष रूप से दर्शनीय हैं। इनमें प्रमुख रूप से:
- Shikharji (सम्मेद शिखर)
- Champapur
- Pawapuri
- Varanasi (काशी)
के सुंदर और मनोहारी भावचित्र बनाए गए हैं। ये चित्र काँच के चौखट में सुरक्षित रखे गए हैं।
मन्दिर की संपत्ति और भवन
मंदिर का कुल क्षेत्रफल लगभग 6682 वर्गफुट है। मंदिर के नीचे 9 दुकानें बनी हुई हैं तथा इसके साथ एक हवेली भी स्थित है।
मंदिर से संबंधित एक धर्मशाला भवन “धर्मशाला मन्दिर खिन्दूकान” के नाम से है। वर्तमान में यह भवन Shri Mahavir Digambar Jain Balika Vidyalaya को शिक्षा के उद्देश्य से दिया गया है। इसके अतिरिक्त, यह भवन समिति द्वारा विवाह और अन्य सामाजिक समारोहों के लिए भी उपलब्ध कराया जाता है।
शास्त्र भंडार और धार्मिक गतिविधियाँ
मंदिर में लगभग 15 प्राचीन हस्तलिखित ग्रंथ सुरक्षित हैं। धर्म के प्रचार-प्रसार के लिए भाद्रपद मास में यहाँ शास्त्र सभा का आयोजन किया जाता है।
मंदिर में समय-समय पर उत्सव और धार्मिक विधि-विधान भी आयोजित होते रहते हैं। माघ सुदी दशमी को भगवान अजितनाथ के जन्म एवं तप कल्याणक महोत्सव का विशेष आयोजन किया जाता है।
इसके अतिरिक्त रिकॉर्डिंग के माध्यम से पूजा-पाठ, स्तोत्र और भजनों का प्रसार भी किया जाता है।
प्रबंधन व्यवस्था
यह मंदिर बीस पंथ आम्नाय से संबंधित है। मंदिर का प्रबंधन पंजीकृत विधान के अनुसार चुनी हुई कार्यकारिणी समिति द्वारा किया जाता है, जो मंदिर की सभी धार्मिक और प्रशासनिक व्यवस्थाओं का संचालन करती है।

Shri Digambar Jain Temple Chandraprabhuji (Khindookan) is one of the historic Jain temples of Jaipur. The temple is located in Maniharon Ka Rasta, near Mahavir Park, Jaipur, and is known for its religious importance and artistic beauty.
History of the Temple
This temple was constructed by the Panch Khindookan community. According to the Vyasa record (official document), the temple was built in Vikram Samvat 1804. The document mentions:
“During the reign of Maharajadhiraj Sawai Ishwari Singhji, Panch Khindooka was built in Samvat 1804.”
The Khindooka, Patni, and Musharaf families belong to the same gotra. Their ancestors migrated from Nevta Village, Rajasthan, located near Sanganer, where an ancient Jain temple also exists.
Idols in the Temple
The Mulnayak (principal deity) of the temple is Lord Chandraprabhu. In addition to the main idol, the temple houses:
- 266 idols
- 44 sacred yantras
Other important sacred objects in the temple include:
- A metal Panchmeru
- Charan Chowki
- An idol of Goddess Padmavati
- A brass Patadi (plate) bearing the image of Uday Babaji
The temple also has a large and beautiful black-stone Padmasana idol of Lord Ajitnath, which is highly impressive.
Architectural and Artistic Features
The temple is rich in artistic design. Outside the temple there is a beautiful chhatri (canopy structure), and inside the sanctum there is a large dome above the altar.
On white stone panels, there are beautiful golden and colorful engraved depictions of important Jain pilgrimage sites, including:
- Shikharji (Sammed Shikhar)
- Champapur
- Pawapuri
- Varanasi (Kashi/Banaras)
These artistic engravings are very attractive and are protected within glass frames.
Temple Property and Buildings
The total area of the temple is approximately 6682 square feet. Beneath the temple there are nine shops, and beside it there is also a haveli.
There is a dharamshala building associated with the temple called “Dharamshala Mandir Khindookan.” At present, this building has been given for educational use to Shri Mahavir Digambar Jain Balika Vidyalaya. The building is also allotted by the committee for weddings and social ceremonies.
Scriptures and Religious Activities
The temple preserves about 15 ancient handwritten manuscripts. To promote religious knowledge, scriptural assemblies (Shastra Sabha) are organized here during the Bhadrapada month.
Various religious ceremonies and festivals are held in the temple from time to time. On Magh Shukla Dashami, the Janma and Tap Kalyanak Mahotsav of Lord Ajitnath is celebrated with great devotion.
In addition, recordings of prayers, hymns, and devotional recitations are also played to spread religious teachings.
Management
The temple belongs to the Bees Panth Amnay tradition. The administration of the temple is managed by an elected executive committee, formed according to registered regulations.
