English Translation
Pithika (Invocation)
With the three yogas (mind, speech, and body), today I bow before Lord Jinraj Vasupujya.
O Lord! Kindly fulfill my noble wishes and spiritual aspirations. ॥1॥
You were born in Champapur and worked for the welfare and happiness of all beings.
O Vasupujya, the beloved star of Mother Jayavati’s eyes, you are worthy of our deepest worship. ॥2॥
You are the twelfth Tirthankara Vasupujya, the benefactor of all the three worlds.
By accepting renunciation and meditating upon the Self, you destroyed the sins of spiritually inclined souls. ॥3॥
Even the mighty beings of the six divisions bow before you, and sages, monks, and Ganadharas chant your praises.
You destroyed the four destructive karmas and attained the radiant vision of infinite knowledge. ॥4॥
Your bliss and spiritual energy are extraordinary; may the encampment of worldly existence within me also disappear.
Awakened within the pure soul, you crossed beyond the vast ocean of worldly life. ॥5॥
By abandoning worldly pride and wealth, you attained the true virtues of the soul and spread fragrance across the eighth earth-region.
You uprooted all eight karmas completely and attained the gateway to eternal bliss. ॥6॥
You descended from the Mahashukra heaven, having enjoyed celestial happiness there.
Even in childhood, you became detached from worldly pleasures and remained absorbed in the soul. ॥7॥
You attained glory in all the three worlds and showed everyone the path of liberation and auspiciousness.
Though present upon the conscious earth, you remained pure, enlightened, and absorbed within your true Self. ॥8॥
You were adorned with royal umbrellas, fly-whisks, and divine halos; gods, humans, and celestial beings came to your feet.
Hundreds of my fortunes have awakened today, for I have attained the rare opportunity of your दर्शन (divine sight). ॥9॥
Millions upon millions of times I bow to you; through devotion my mind becomes as pure and fragrant as sandalwood.
Therefore, I surrender at your holy feet and shall remain only in your refuge. ॥10॥
Leaving you, I shall never go elsewhere, nor shall I return again to worldly existence.
I complete my devotion to you and again and again place my head at your feet. ॥11॥
