जिणेहि बेविहेहि भासिओ वुसो हियंकरो असंगचित्तधारगाण संजदाण भूसिदो ।

गिहत्थकम्म-पालगाण दिद्वि-मोहणूणगो सुसग्गमोक्खदायगी परत्थ अत्थ सोक्खदो ॥23॥

समुत्तमो खमाजुदो य मद्दवोय अज्जवो सउच्च-सच्च-संजमादि- तावचागसंजुदो।

अकिंचणो य बंभचेरभेदगो दहा मदो असेसलोय-मंगलोत्थ सज्झगोवि साहणो ॥ 24 ॥

धम्मभावणा वरा..

पूर्व जिनेन्द्रों ने भी दो प्रकार का हितंकर धर्म कहा है। प्रथम प्रकार का धर्म परिग्रह रहित चित्त धारण करने वाले संयतों के लिए भूषित होता है, दूसरा धर्म दृष्टिमोह से रहित है, जो गृहस्थ कर्म पालन करने वालों का है। धर्म परलोक में स्वर्ग व मोक्ष देने वाला व इस लोक में सुख देने वाला है, उत्तम क्षमा, उत्तम मार्दव, उत्तम आर्जव, उत्तम शौच, उत्तम सत्य, उत्तम संयम, उत्तम तप, उत्तम त्याग, उत्तम अकिंचन, उत्तम ब्रह्मचर्य, ये दस भेद वाला धर्म सम्पूर्ण लोक में मंगल करने वाला है यही हमारे लिए साध्य व साधन है।

Dhamma bhavna

The previous Jinendras have spoken of two types of beneficial dharma. The first type of dharma is adorned by those who practice restraint and have a mind free from attachment, and the second type of dharma is free from deluded vision and is followed by householders engaged in worldly duties. Dharma grants heaven and liberation in the afterlife, and happiness in this life. The ten aspects of dharma—supreme forgiveness, supreme humility, supreme straightforwardness, supreme purity, supreme truthfulness, supreme restraint, supreme penance, supreme renunciation, supreme non-possessiveness, and supreme celibacy—bring welfare to the entire world. This is both the goal and the means for us.

Dhamma bhavna highlights two paths of dharma: one for those who renounce worldly attachments and one for householders, both leading to spiritual and worldly benefits. The ten virtues listed are seen as essential for spiritual progress and welfare.

णिगोद-थावर-त्तसत्त-पुण्ण-सव्व-देहदा  मई सुदस्स णाणदा य णम्मदा यरम्मदा।

विभूदिसोक्खसंपदा य धम्म-कज्जमुक्खदा इमा य उत्तरोत्तरा सुदुल्लहाप्पबोहिदा ॥ 21॥

परेण भिण्णरुवदो य सव्वहा णिजम्मि या रुई पईदिवेदणा य णिच्छयो य धारणा।

समाहिभावणा सया हि णिव्वियप्पसाहणा सुबोहिदुल्लहा मदा सुबोहिदुल्लहा मदा ॥22॥

बोहिदुल्लहा वरा….

निगोद से स्थावर, स्थावर से त्रस, त्रसों में भी पर्याप्तक देह होना, देह की सफलता (सम्पूर्ण अंग) मिलना, बुद्धि का श्रुत ज्ञान को जानने में लगना, नम्रता का भाव होना, रम्यता होना, यह सभी उत्तरोत्तर दुर्लभ है। दूसरे से स्व रूप भिन्न है, अपने स्वभाव में ही रुचि होना, उसी की प्रतीति होना, निश्चय होना, उसी की धारणा होना, सदैव समाधि की भावना होना, निर्विकल्प साधना करना सभी बोधिदुर्लभता की भावना मानी गयी हैं।

Bohidullaha bhavna

From the state of nigod (the lowest form of life) to immobile beings, from immobile beings to mobile beings, even among mobile beings, having a body capable of sufficient activity, attaining a complete body (with all organs), having intelligence inclined toward understanding scriptural knowledge, possessing humility, and being virtuous—each of these is progressively rare. To recognize that one’s true nature is different from others, to have an interest in one’s own intrinsic nature, to firmly realize it, to have conviction in it, to hold onto that understanding, to constantly be in a state of equanimity, and to engage in meditation free from doubt—these are all considered forms of rare enlightenment.

Bohidullaha bhavna emphasizes the rarity and difficulty of progressing through various stages of spiritual awareness, highlighting the deep realization of one’s true self and the practice of unwavering meditation as rare and profound achievements.

ण केण माणुसेण बम्हणा सुरेण णिम्मिदो अहो य उड्डूमज्झतिण्णिभेददो पदिठ्ठिदो।

अकिट्टिमो वि सस्सदो पडिक्खणं विणट्ठगो जहा जिणेहि दिस्सदे तहा जिणेहि भण्णिदो ॥19॥

जगो घणादितिण्णि-वाउवेट्ठिदो सयं द्विदो सुजीव-पुग्गलादि-छव्बिहेहि सुड्डु पूरिदो।

वये वि जम्मणेवि धोव्वगेहि णिच्चसंजुदो विचित्त-भावसंगदो इमो मुणीहि चितिदो ॥20॥

लोयभावणा वरा….

यह लोक न किसी मनुष्य, न ब्रह्मा, न किसी देव द्वारा निर्मित है अधोलोक, मध्यलोक, ऊर्ध्वलोक तीन भेद वाला यह लोक अकृत्रिम व शाश्वत है। इस लोक में स्थित पदार्थ विनश्वर दिखाई देते हैं, इसलिए लोक विनश्वर भी है। जैसा जिनेन्द्र भगवान ने इस लोक को देखा है, वैसा ही बताया है। यह लोक तीन वातवलयों से वेष्टित है, स्वयं स्थित है, जीव, पुद्गलादि छः द्रव्यों से पूरा भरा है। जगत में प्रत्येक पदार्थ का उत्पाद भी होता है, और व्यय भी, पर प्रत्येक द्रव्य ध्रौव्य रूप से बना रहता है। ऐसे विचित्र भावों से संगत यह लोक मुनियों के द्वारा चिंतन किया जाता है।

Loya bhavna

This universe is neither created by any human, nor by Brahma, nor by any god. The universe, which is divided into three realms—lower world (Adholok), middle world (Madhyalok), and upper world (Urdhvalok)—is uncreated and eternal. The substances present in this universe appear perishable, and thus, the universe itself is also transient. As Lord Jina has seen this universe, so has he described it. This universe is enveloped by three atmospheric layers and is self-sustaining, filled with the six substances (dravya)—soul, matter, and others. In the universe, every substance undergoes creation and destruction, yet each substance remains constant in its essence. Such profound and complex truths of the universe are meditated upon by monks.

Loya bhavna explains the Jain view of the universe, emphasizing its eternal nature, the cycle of creation and destruction, and how it is perceived and described by enlightened beings (Jinas). Monks deeply contemplate these realities.

अणिट्ठयारि मे इणं इणं दु इट्ठयारि मे जले चलेदि माणसे य राग-रोसवाउणा।

जदा तदा ण संति चित्तदा कदा हवे अरे कहिंण णिज्जरा अहो कहिंण णिज्जरा अहो ॥ 17 ॥

ण वेसमेत्त-धारणेण साहु-संगमेण णो महोग्गणेगभेय-भिण्णताव-वाहणेण णो।

णिजप्पसाहणा-विहीण-साहुणो समं विणा कहिंण णिज्जरा अहो कहिंण णिज्जरा अहो ॥ 18 ॥

वरं हि भवणिज्जरा….

जब तक चित्त रूपी जल में राग-द्वेष की वायु चलती है, तब तक यह मेरे लिए अनिष्टकारी है। यह मेरे इष्ट हैं, ऐसा आत्मा मानता है। जब तक चित्त शांत नहीं होता, तब तक निर्जरा कहीं नहीं है। अनेक वेशधारण करने से, साधु संगति करने से, महाउग्र अनेक भेदों वाले तपों को भी वहन करने से, आत्म साधना से रहित, बिना साम्य-भाव के अहो! निर्जरा कहीं नहीं है, अहो! निर्जरा कहीं नहीं है, अहो! निर्जरा कहीं नहीं है।

Nijjara bhavna

As long as the winds of attachment and aversion blow in the water of the mind, it remains harmful to me. The soul believes that these are beneficial to me. Until the mind is calm, there is no place for the shedding of karma (nirjara). By adopting various outward forms, associating with monks, or undertaking intense and numerous forms of austerity—without true self-discipline and an attitude of equanimity—alas! nirjara (the shedding of karma) cannot happen anywhere, alas! nirjara cannot happen anywhere, alas! nirjara cannot happen anywhere.

Nijjara bhavna highlights that true spiritual progress, specifically the shedding of karmic bonds (nirjara), cannot occur through external rituals or extreme austerities alone but requires inner calm and equanimity.

जिणिंद-तित्थरोचिदस्स मिच्छभाव-संवरो वदेसु तप्परस्स वा असंजदस्स संवरो।

विरागभाव-भाविदस्स भो कसाय-संवरो णिरुद्ध-जोगिणो हवेदि तिण्णिजोग-संवरो ॥15॥

तिगुत्ति-रुद्धमाणसेण साहुणा णिजम्मि जा रुई पसारिदा तदोण पाव-पुण्ण-कंखणा।

णिजप्परक्खणस्स सो विही जिणागमे सदा सुसंवरोअसेस कम्म रोहणेण जायदे ॥ 16 ॥

संवरस्स भावणा……

जिनेन्द्र भगवान के तीर्थ में रुचि रखने से आस्रव का संवर होता है। असंयत भाव का संवर व्रतों में तत्परता से व कषाय का संवर वैराग्य भावनाओं से होता है। तीनों योगों का संवर योगों की चेष्टाओं को रोकने से होता है। तीनों गुप्तियों के मन से युक्त साधु निजात्मा में अपनी रुचि को फैलाता है, इसलिए वह पाप पुण्य की आकांक्षा से रहित है। निज आत्मा की रक्षा करने की यह विधि जिनागम में सदा प्राप्त है। सम्पूर्ण कर्मों को रोकने से सम्पूर्ण संवर होता है।

Sanvar bhavna

By developing an interest in the path of Lord Jina (Jinendra Bhagwan), the inflow of karma is stopped (āsrava is restrained). The restraint of unregulated emotions occurs through commitment to vows, and the restraint of passions (kashaya) occurs through cultivating detachment. The restraint of all three forms of activity (mind, speech, and body) happens by controlling these actions. A monk who is engaged in the threefold control (mind, speech, and body) expands his focus on his true self, and thus, he is free from the desire for both sin and virtue. This method of protecting one’s true self is always available in the teachings of Jina. The complete cessation of karma happens through total restraint.

Sanvar bhavna explains how restraining negative actions and desires, and focusing on the true self, leads to the cessation of karmic influx, which is a key teaching in Jainism.

सरीरभाव-दव्ववाचि-चित्तचेठ्ठिदेहि वा पमादमिच्छ-जोगपावकोहपच्चयेहि वा

णिरंतरं समासवी असेस-जीवरासिगे असेसकम्मसव्वभेदजादगस्स विज्जदे ॥13॥

णिमज्जदे पडेदि दुक्खसायरे भवे सया फलेण आसवस्स पंचभेदगे पुणो पुणो ।

 विचितिदे जदा हि मंदमोहभावसंजुदो तदा विभेद-णाणसंबलेण होदि वंचिदो ॥14॥

आसवस्स भावणा…

शरीर, भाव, द्रव्य वचन, चित्त की चेष्टाऐं, प्रमाद, मिथ्यात्व, योग, पाप क्रोधादि कषायों के कारण होती हैं। जिससे समस्त जीव राशि में निरंतर कर्मों का आस्रव होता रहता है और कर्मों के सभी भेद (मूल व उत्तर) आत्मा में बंध को प्राप्त होते हैं, यह जीव आस्रव के पांच भेदों के फल के कारण पुनः पुनः दुख के सागर में गिरकर डूबता है किंतु जब मंद मोह भाव से संयुक्त होता है, तब भेद विज्ञान के फल के चिंतन से स्वयं को बचा पाता है।

Aasav bhavna

The actions of the body, emotions, speech, and mind, as well as negligence, false beliefs, activities, and sinful passions like anger, are the causes of karmic influx. Because of this, all beings constantly experience the inflow of karma, and all types of karmic bonds (both primary and secondary) are attached to the soul. Due to the effects of these five forms of influx, the soul repeatedly falls into the ocean of suffering and sinks. However, when it is associated with diminished delusion, through the contemplation of the knowledge of distinctions (discrimination between the self and the non-self), it is able to save itself.”

Aasav bhavna emphasizes how karmic influx occurs due to negative actions and passions, leading to repeated suffering. However, with diminished delusion and self-awareness, the soul can free itself
